Technology Effect on Children

By: Meng Seng

In the twenties first century, younger generations are now using too much technology. Parents are having a really hard time keeping up with their kids. Gadgets like cell phone, computer, TV, games, and internet are now powerful than ever. This show that kids are exposes and opens to more inappropriate content.  Parents must educate their kids about the danger of media and technology, before it’s become a threat to them. Children’s spend more time sitting in front of the computer screen than do any other activity, such as exercise. Kids will have more chance to exposure to adult content, lack of physical activity, and lack of interaction with family and peers by using these technologies. Sometimes it’s hard to fully understand the threats that lie beyond the click of a mouse.

Technology has many effects on children; some effects are good, but other isn't. In the past children spent their time play football, basketball, or ride bicycles. Without technology kids stay out of trouble, kids go out to neighborhood to interact with friends, and parents don’t have to worry about sending their out to play as they do today.  Technology is encourages kids to be isolated from their family. For example, during dinner time kids will go online to chat with friends or play video games instead of eat dinner with their family.  Today, technology causes laziness in children and often spent their time at home play video games. Although technology has some negative effects on children, but there is some good effect in children of using technology. Technology provides kids with problem solving skills and the ability to thinks for themselves. Children will have enormous knowledge of using these technologies, if parents able to manage their kids time of using technology and anticipate their kids from adult content.

Parents must use technology to enhance their knowledge and learning experience, so they could stay ahead of their kids. In reality, the facts are that technology will grow rapidly and attach to a child’s life.  The innovation of internet, games, and TV will not go away anytime soon. Technology is here to stay, as a society, parents and children must work together toward a better future. Technology has shape our world and society to make our life better and earlier, but we must understand that there will always be an outcome of technology.
